Site Engineer

Role Overview:

A hands-on Site Engineer with 5-7 years of civil/construction experience responsible for ensuring on-site execution meets design, quality, safety, schedule, and budget requirements. The role requires strong technical knowledge of drawings and finishes, excellent coordination with project stakeholders, and the ability to manage quantities, material flows, and subcontractor billing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure work is executed per drawings, specifications, and approved methods.
• Check materials and work in progress for compliance with specified requirements; maintain material inward records and stock at site.
• Submit project deliverables and ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
• Enforce observance of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Read GFC and working drawings to calculate quantities; perform daily cost sheets and reconcile quantities and materials.
• Work on project cash outflow, assist in audits of material inward, and recommend cost-effective and productivity improvements.
• Check and certify subcontractor and labour bills; verify work completed against invoices.
• Prepare status reports by gathering, analysing, and summarising progress, risks, and resource needs for project managers.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and procurement on estimates, clarifications, and technical queries.

• Efficient analytical skills for cost control, reconciliation, and problem solving.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of relevant site engineering experience on building or infrastructure projects.

• Clear written and verbal communication for reporting and stakeholder coordination.
• Strong focus on quality, compliance, and accurate documentation.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time on site, and meet deadlines.

• Collaborative approach with contractors, subcontractors, and design teams.
